Friday morning was very sunny but sadly it was our last day in school.
We spent the morning teaching more lessons to the children at Amaji.
Mrs Watanabe made Weather Wheels with Grade 2 and Grade 3 to teach them the English vocabulary for days of the week and types of weather.
The Japanese children produced very neat handwriting and beautiful drawings.
They loved their weather wheels.

Riley and Aaron came along to the class to help out.

In the Gymnasium, Mr Coates and Miss Dobbin taught Parachute Games with the 2 huge parachutes we had brought as a gift from Chopwell.
All of our children joined in at some point to help instruct their friends on how to play a wide variety of exciting games. This is a new experience for the Japanese children and definitely the most favourite of the week!!
Mrs Watanabe also taught history lessons to Grade 5 and 6 about the castles of Northumberland. She dressed the children up as medieval knights-Finn helped out with this lesson (in the silver helmet!)
Then everyone made a medieval castle.
Shoya in Grade 6 was first to finish his perfect model.

  1. Wow! They look like lots of fun! Their weather wheels are so perfect and Shoya's medieval castle is very good! I bet you all enjoyed taking part in the English lessons with your new friends! Finn, you look fabulous in that silver helmet... It really made me laugh! Mrs Wigg x
